Popular Music Vocals - LVL 1

Course Description

This module is a continuation and more in depth application of the beginner’s course and further develops upon the foundational elements involved in healthy effective vocal production and performance.

On the course students will cover:

  • Rhythmic notation

  • Sight singing

  • Aural awareness

  • Technical work (scales and arpeggios)

  • Vocal warm up and exercises (intermediate)

  • Breathing intermediate

  • Performance, movement and personality

  • Physical expression and gestures

  • Music theory

  • Music appreciation

  • AD Libs (singing with own voice and less like the singer)

  • Riffs

  • Use of dynamics

Activities

  • All students are given the opportunity to gain practical experience at a number of events (Pizza Recitals, Girlfriends Expo, NIFCA)

  • Students can also audition for our grand end of term production (Walkin’ In My Own Shoes)

  • Free workshops

Gain an international certificate with the London College of Music through Vocal Exams!

Course length: 1 year

Once completed persons can advance to the next level of Popular Music Vocals.

Criteria: Persons should have completed year one of vocal training.
