East Point Productions Inc. Celebrates Student Success with London College of Music Exams

Bridgetown, Barbados — June 19, 2025

East Point Productions Inc., the Barbados Centre Representative for London College of Music recently hosted the Spring 2025 round of music exams - an inspiring showcase of hard work, creativity and talent from students across the island. This round of exams received students from the Barbados Defence Force, Sagicor Chillax Band, East Point School of Music, Kellie Cadogan Voice Studio, Frederick Smith Secondary, Richard’s Music Center and Joy Knight Music Academy.

Continuing the tradition of excellence, the Center welcomed a visiting examiner, completing seven days of exams, which also marked a milestone - introducing the Centre’s first rock guitar examinations.

This season saw a number of outstanding results, emphasizing the wide range of talent and dedication across participating institutions. Among the standout achievements this session, the Sagicor Chillax Band was awarded a Distinction for their ensemble performance — a proud accomplishment for the group. First-time candidate Sarah Best also earned a Distinction in Popular Music Vocals, while Hazel Springett achieved a Distinction in Rock Guitar and Leigh Ann Layne received a Distinction in Musical Theatre for Singers - marking a successful debut for these exam categories at the Centre. This session additionally welcomed the Centre’s first cohort of violin students, with a strong showing from several promising young musicians.

Students ranging from ages five to sixty-five brought forth their skills in an atmosphere that was one of both discipline for the arts and relaxation for their exams. London College of Music prides itself on understanding the various human emotions towards exams and strives to create an atmosphere of warmth and confidence. It is a mark that East Point Productions Inc. holds dearly, ensuring that students feel welcomed, heard and appreciated before and after their exams. Students were treated to a small post-exam celebration, receiving “I Did My LCMExam Today!” stickers, enjoyed a sweet lollipop and as a fun activity, they picked a card that invited them to do something fun after their exam, like listening to a new music genre or visiting the wildlife reserve.

“In Barbados, there’s a fantastic scene of growth,” said Nick Mackey, Senior Examiner at the London College of Music. “There are high standards across a variety of institutions, and it’s only going to keep growing.”

As the center continues to host exams, they hope to have more success stories as they prepare for the 2026 April exam season. Tutors, parents and students interested in taking part are asked to contact the center at: eastpointproexams@gmail.com
