The 2026 London College of Music Exams in Barbados

On April 11, 2026, East Point Productions Inc. welcomed Senior Examiner from London College of Music, Lousia Worssam to Barbados. East Point Productions Inc. has had a partnership with London College of Music for a number of years and is celebrated as the only face to face international music examining body in Barbados. This round of exams received students from the Barbados Defence Force, East Point School of Music, Kellie Cadogan Voice Studio, Partners That Care International, NV Music, Richard’s Music Center and Joy Knight Music Academy.

In person exams give students the opportunity for authentic performances. Students are encouraged to communicate and engage with the examiner and allow their personality to shine with a person who is not behind  a screen. It allows the student to work through their nerves, adequately fix their recovery time for mistakes and enhance their stage presence. Music is emotional and communicative, letting both the examiner and examinee flow through the energy and expression together that a digital screen cannot recreate. 

The opportunity to work on stage presence and confidence has created opportunities for students outside of the exams such as their first booked gig at the annual vocal showcase Walkin’ In My Own Shoes in Barbados in both 2025 and 2026.

Milestones were celebrated as this year’s exams welcomed Classical Piano students from NV Music Center to their first London College of Music Examination creating history in Barbados.

Students across the board scored well this year with Distinctions and Merits. One exciting result was that of Kimika Holder, a first timer to music exams and vocal training. Holder, a student from the Discover Your Voice Group training class from East Point School of Music, scored high with a Distinction. 

After completing exams, students receive Goodies and pick a card for a fun thing to do after Exams.
